The FedEx driver today made her first-ever delivery to this address. (4001 W Washington, Bradford PA, Michele Kinkaid if you were thinking of sending cupcakes.)
FedEx brought my new hearing aids no more than an hour before Ian and Karen from New Zealand arrived. It’s a good thing the hearing aids arrived first… we’d still be at the front gate with me pleading “Say again, please.”
As luck would have it, with 101 campsites here, they and I are next door neighbors.
They bought their trailer sight unseen, on-line from New Zealand, off RV Trader.comfrom a dealer in Lubbock. So, of course, they bought a pickup in Lubbock, as well. That was November and, serendipitously, here they are in “my” campground. Six months here, a year in Canada, another six months in the U.S. and off you go, then, back to NZ.
They plan to ship trailer and truck back to NZ (I don’t yet know which island) and live in the trailer while tenants rent their “big house ” and keep them in walking-around money.
I’ll learn more, for sure, as the days pass. For now I know Karen messed up her hip doing yoga at their last campsite so strenuous hiking is off the to-do list. π And Ian’s accent is a bit thick.
How do they like driving on the right side of the road? I guess they still drive on the left in New Zealandβ¦
He said the combo of driving on the wrong side plus pulling a 30ft trailer was sort of a challenge.
I do not know why the time is off on my replies.
