It’s Sunday evening and the campground is still

Posted on May 12, 2025

The sun has hidden behind a cloud bank, soon to drop below the ridge. It’s maybe 65 degrees, breezy — but not what I would call windy — and the Columbia slips quietly past my door. I’m done for the day; Michele is inside, prepping a pair of fat porkchops, the dogs are rolling around in the grass, wrestling over a coveted stick.

This is the evening that filled your mind’s eye when you signed up for a drifting lifestyle.

I’ll play some Dire Straits for both of you and your journey together.

“Walk of Life” would be perfect.

In this case, looks are not deceiving.
