We’ve yet to see a choo-choo in Chattanooga

Posted on March 21, 2023
Millie and I are in Chattanooga where locals are hopeful they’ve seen their last freeze warning until next fall. Loads of travel trailers and motorhomes on the road. The visit with Josh and Em was terrific; not nearly enough time with grandson Nick. Good convo with essentially no time pressure. Sunday afternoon we visited a number of north Georgia wineries. Some very good wine and, as many of you know, the north Georgia mountains are impressive and the roads are… crooked to say the absolute least. They’d be adrenaline generators on a motorcycle . The kids are to move into a new house this week in a stupidly hilly subdivision between Canton and Ball Ground… I can’t imagine they’ll ever negotiate their driveway on snowy or icy days. At this point, 3:51 EDT on Tuesday, I have idea where I’ll finish the day tomorrow… I see a coin-toss in my immediate future.

You don’t have to unhook your trailer?

I unplug, set the jack and stabilizers. If I’m going to leave the park, I’ll unhook.

How close I am to level is also a factor. If I have to raise the front of the trailer, I’ll unhook to take pressure off the jack and the hitch.

North Georgia is beautful. My 5th great grandfather, Dr. Jesse Green, came to Ballground from NC about 18early, built a huge 2 story hpuse on Flatbottom Road, still standing. Then preceded to father 21 chldren by 2 wives. Was a doctor during Civil War.

Is Millie continuing to settle into traveling??? I’m betting she’ll be fine as long as you are nearby 👍🏻

She drools less. 🙂 today might not be a good test… Josh and Emily have two Goldens, including a 10-month-old. Millie and the pup wrestled for 3 days, so it may be that she’s just worn out.

As the weather improves so will everything else. Glad you are back on your adventure.
Had a great walk in the hood today. Mouse traps in the van as it waits for our next venture.

Didn’t mean to post that twice. Blogs are new territory for me.

If you don’t already have it, download the Campendium app. Great for finding camp sites , free and otherwise, and dump stations, free and otherwise.
