Yup, still wintry up here

Posted on March 30, 2023March 31, 2023

Millie and I were forced by an enormous body of water to make a right turn.

We got to Lake Erie at Geneva-on-the-Lake and lunched at Mary’s Diner as requested by friend Jeff. It deserves the recommendation.

Temperature at the waterfront park was 36 degrees. Snow lingers on north-facing slopes and in shaded area. The wind was coming off thr lake at about 100 miles per hour and the wind chill — I’m estimating here — was 40⁰ below zero.

Thr architecture here is what I now recognize as upper-midwest 1930s or ’40s: two-story, sorta boxy with a one-story wing to one side or the rear.  It’s everywhere… like someone will look at a Texas house that’s part brick and part-stone and say “Texas, early new millenium.”

Folks in the next space here at Love’s RV Hookup are from Canada, driving bi honking truck and pulling a 45-foot trailer. Their trailer alone is longer than my truck plus trailer… probably has a washer and dryer and two baths. They don’t seem to be looking down their noses at me, though, despite the relative size of our accomodations.

Rain tomorrow. Time is on our side… Millie and I may hibernate tomorrow.

So can you post a little map that shows your route on this journey from Kilgore? Maybe draw it on a map then take a pic and post the picture. I had you down near Pennsylvania. Anyway have a good day. Maybe there is a library or museum in the local burg.
