Have I posted here since Tucson? Time and miles…
For the last several days, we’ve been working our way, slowly, northward along the coast.
Santa Barbara Sunrise RV Park: Ultra clean, ridiculously hard to get out of… narrow, tight corner; yes, I took out there “tight corner” sign. Pismo Sands: Nice park, swimming pool, lots of more-or-less permanent residents, clean laundry. Moss Landing KOA: excellent staff, helped us into a tight back-in site, disappointing trip to Monterrey Bay and Cannery Row. Ukiah Redwood Empire Fairgrounds: old park, some spaces abandoned. Rambling Redwoods RV Park at Crescent City: beautiful campground in a redwood forest, huge trees, horrible signage.
Winchester Bay RV Park: Oregon at last. Rain — of course — in a Douglas County Park right there where the Umpqua empties into the Pacific.
Last night, we landed at Waldport/Newport KOA, happy with a down day to see my favorite Oregon coast sites. Depoe Bay and “the world’s smallest harbor.” Deviled Punchbowl… Michele broke out her serious camera. Newport fishermen’s dock… tourists, sea lions, more tourists, more sea lions…

That’s us at Newport with the Yaquina Bay bridge in the background.

Surfers, clam diggers and beachies at Otter Rock Beach.
In the morning, we’re off to Gearhart for a night… our next-to-last, penultimate night in Oregon before we wind up this roadtrip at our summer encampment at Bridgeport, WA.
It has been… except for those hours in the service bay at Camping World… a great trip. I think, though, we’re both ready to level the trailer on our familiar campsite at Bridgeport Marina RV Park.
