Wet and windy weather this week threatens the tenuous hold of colorful elm, aspen, maple, and birch leaves. The grass remains green, the asters still bloom but the trees know winter looms.
My first-ever extended stay in the northeastern U.S. is coming to an end, the denouement a weeks-long series of color-provoking cool mornings and warm afternoons. In recent weeks, we’ve enjoyed a parade of “leaf peepers”, all out for a day-long bimble through Mother Nature’s most effective tranquilizer.
Here, pictures of what has likely been the crowning achievement, the capstone of this year’s gaudy display of fall foliage.
It is just gorgeous! Here’s to bimbling!
Vehicular perambulation. 😀
Beautiful. What did you hear about the lighthouse? I passed on mine.
Nothing yet.
Bill,
It has been delightful reading your posts these many months. I hope you find inspiration back in Deep East Texas.
I’m sure I will. I’ll be at Caddo SP Dec through Feb.

What an opener!
