A well believed to be the oldest continuously-producing well, at least in these parts, sits smack in the middle of the Bradford PA McDonald’s.
Drilled in the 1870s by Thomas Bradley, it’s been owned by the Cline family since 1937. The pump jack pulls 3/4 of a barrel of crude per day.
Most East Texans know the oil industry in the US really began with the Drake Discovery well at Titusville, just east of Bradford and for the first 20 years or so of the 20th century, this area was the “king” of the business. Several small refineries still operate in the Bradford-Warren-Titusville area.
Sounds like all is going well with you you’ll be be busy as a cat full of croatin covering up shit soon
So what do they do with that 3/4 of a barrel of crude? 🤔
When you get homesick, there is always the Penn-Bead Oil Museum to cheer you up.
I’ve met several people who work at Allegheny Resource Group. All say good things about that museum. Also an oil museum at Derrick City .
It’s time to change your blog photo!
I will. Waiting for it to greenup a bit more.
