Renfro Valley is home to the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. I’ll betcha, Fred Gebhardt, they know John Hartford here. 🙂 55 acres of mountain, gospel and country music theaters with campgrounds, shopping.
Millie and I are dawdling, meandering. Today’s brief drive took us up some pretty steep hills. We turtled along in the right lane. Highest point, according to the notoriously imprecise altimeter on my phone, was 2,263 feet… took us a while to get there. We passed the turnoff to Cherhola Skyway and Cumberland Gap, both of which I’ve visited on 2 wheels.
Even at our pace we’ve time to spare. We might spend an extra night in Renfro Valley. (We’ve finally found the sun. AC is running.)
Oh my god you found the sun! It is starting to snow again here. And more predicted. We had spring, I think it was Wednesday. Gonna put this place on my list. Sounds cool. Did you hit up a diner? Love the picture. Renfro to Valley, Kentucky? What is the campground? Public, private, municipal?
Renfro Valley bumps up against Mt. Vernon, KY. Beautiful place. KOA campground. I don’t think I’d call it a diner; definitely tiny. Walk up and order outside or inside. Mom and daughter operation.
Sounds like you are having fun.im at Vickie and grettas for the night
I’ll need to visit the Hall of Fame one day. In the meantime I’ll brush up on John Hartford.
